You can either text (type or talk) us or you can input your meals into the message area of Just a Bite Better when you’re logged in.

This whole game is about understanding what food (ingredients) you are putting in your body so you can see if you are making the decisions you want to be making. Since that is our goal you need only tell us about the major ingredients in your meals, not minor things like pepper or parsley, unless you do want those ingredients tracked.

We try to be helpful by assuming certain ingredients in certain recipes. For example, if you tell us you had a burrito we will record tortillas, white rice, refried beans, and salsa. If you tell us about a ‘chicken burrito’ we will record all of the above plus chicken.

If you ever want to know what we record for a recipe simply text us info {name}. In this case, ‘info burrito’.

You can report your meals as often as you like. With the basic plan, Amanda will send you a reminder once per day. With the Plus plan, you can receive up to three reminders. But with either plan you can message text or talk your meals to us as often as you want over the day.

Amanda is your Artificial Intelligence companion (but don’t tell her that). She’s your accountability partner and note taker, support system and encourager. Because she’s AI, Amanda is nonjudgmental. Unlike your mom, she’ll never question what you eat, unless it’s just to learn more about that food or ingredient.


She loves learning (and does so at a rapid pace incomprehensible to humans) and has no hobbies, because, again, she’s AI. When she’s not helping you track your habits, she’s helping you track your progress. Her favorite things include creating charts and stats and she subsists on a diet of data for breakfast, lunch and dinner.


Both plans provide you with accountability and help you set goals and establish habits you can track. To see which plan is right for you, we created a handy chart that lets you compare.

The basic plan is free. We want you to get a sense of the power of habits and see how easy it is to use Just a Bite Better. Then, when you’re ready to take things to the next level, our plus plan offers expanded options for $4.99/month.

With either the basic or plus plan you can cancel at any time. With the plus plan, membership is on a month-to-month basis, so once you cancel, your account will remain active through the month but we’ll no longer charge your credit card.

It’s simple! Here’s how it works for our users… 

  1. You send messages to Amanda, our AI nutritionist, that include your meals and snacks throughout the day.


  1. Amanda will digest this information and start creating graphs with the information you provide to give you a more well-rounded overview of what you ate for the week.


  1. As you use our system and become more familiar, you can set more goals like “Eat more fruit” or “eat more leafy greens each week” and Amanda will help you to create your desired eating habits - whatever they may be!


What about for Coach users? 

If you are a nutritionist, dietician, friend or doctor looking to use our services, you will want to become what we call, a “Coach” user. A Coach user is someone who has the ability to view another user's food diary so that they can lend a helping hand in helping that user to create healthier habits. 


Yes, your account is private and only you can access your information including messages to and from Amanda, charts, and food summaries. Your account will never be public. However, once you connect to a coach account, they will have access to all food logging that you have added to your JaBB diary. Don’t worry though, you will have to grant them permission before this information is provided to any coach. 

Some professionals like trainers, nutritionists, doctors, dieticians and parents would like an easy way to provide some useful insight to their clients or family. This is why we created "Coach users."

A Coach Account is an account that is granted the right to see another user’s data. A Coach accounts only capability is the ability to see another user’s information in read-only mode.

When you subscribe to a Coach Account you get a certain number of PRO licenses (based on your subscription level) to give to your clients, friends or family so they don’t have to subscribe on their own.


How do I change my daily reminders?

  1. Tap the three lines in the top right corner
  2. Tap profile
  3. Scroll down and click edit
  4. Scroll down to Reminders. Here, you can choose to turn reminders on or off and set timing that suits you.
  5. To save this change, scroll down and click SAVE

3. Here, you will find a message indicating if you are a coach and which subscription you have

For example: “Subscription: Coach 5” and below this headline, you will see “# Remaining PRO licenses”

You can not cancel your subscription directly through our app, instead you will have to go into the settings app on your phone.


On the Apple Store:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Tap the subscription.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down to find the Cancel Subscription button.


On the Google Play Store

  1. Open the Google Play app .
  2. At the top right, tap the profile icon.
  3. Tap Payments and subscriptions Subscriptions.
  4. Select the subscription or prepaid plan that you want to cancel.
  5. Tap Cancel subscription.

No, you can not clear all logged meals, but you can delete individual meals. To do this, you will:

1. Go to Diary

2. Go to Day

3. Tap the "x" next to the listed ingredient or recipe

4. Tap "Ok"

To add a coach, you will:

1. Go to profile

2. Scroll down to find “Grant view access.”

3. Tap “add coach” and enter the email of your chosen coach.

A PRO user has access to a variety of features that a lite user does not, Including:

Advanced charts with categories

#hashtag graphs

Goal setting (up to 5)

Advanced awards and badge

Monthly stat views and month to month comparison

Custom tags for messages

Up to three daily reminders to log meals

Setting reminders is simple. Once you log into your account and tap the profile icon in the top left corner of the screen, tap the edit button and scroll down to reminders. Here, you can turn reminders on and set the time of day you want! 


Once you have chosen your time, click save and you're good to go.

Setting goals is simple. Once you log into your account and go to the “Goals” section, you can click the purple drop down and scroll to find the ingredient you want to focus on.

From there, you can choose whether you want to consume more or less of this ingredient dependent on your intended outcome!

Next, You can then decide on your target number for either the week or month.
